CHRISTINE GOES TO WASHINGTON

17 Jun

While I was sleeping Sunday morning at around 6am Christine was arriving at my house!! She is moving out to Washington for a travel nursing program and decided to stop in Indiana for a couple of days because who knows when we will get to be together again! I woke up with plenty of time before church and went for a good 50 minute walk around my neighborhood (2.2 miles). While she slept in the morning I went to church and then got home eager to spend the day hanging out. First up was to take her to the only decent place in Muncie to go have brunch…Barn Brasserie! 🙂

I got their asparagus omelette with fries which was good, but not my favorite thing I’ve had there. I’d choose something else next time! I ate half of each thing and boxed the rest up.

We sat talking for awhile and drawing on the “tablecloth”…

Then headed off for our next activity-

The pool! We hung out here for a good hour and a half laying out, drinking champagne, listening to music and of course, talking.

The fun continue after the pool with a trip to Tonne!!

It had been too long since I’d been out there and it was a gorgeous day for patio sitting. We shared a bottle of red raspberry which isn’t one I usually get (it’s smaller, just 500ml instead of 750) but it’s really good!

Christine got us a small bag of pretzels and small box of chocolates to munch on while we enjoyed our wine and we stayed here right up until closing!

Next up on “Best Friend Day” was to have this handsome guy drive us around and take our pictures 🙂

He is such a great husband! So amiable for whatever scheme I cook up and want him to be a part of and he was a great sport taking us wherever we wanted to go. This bridge out in Yorktown has memories for us so we climbed up there and got several photos.

Then we went to our “pond house”. There is a house that has been for sale forEVER and we always go out to sit on the dock. It’s a beautiful house with a gorgeous pond and I don’t know why no one has never bought it. We always go out there wondering if this will be the time that it’s sold but so far we’ve been lucky! We absolutely love this place and have been there sooo many times now that it’s just one of our spots. 🙂

We took loads of pictures, jumping pictures included…

Self-timer + tripod is a wonderful thing on a friends taking pictures day 🙂

We just really love this place…

So much so that we ended jumping in!

It was the perfect, quintessential summer thing to do. 🙂 We laid around in our suits drying off after.

Who knows when we’ll get a chance to go out there together again? That knowledge makes it all the more special. Our night was capped off with a gorgeous sunset!

We came home to eat leftovers, watch some Titanic and crash!

Sunday’s Food Journal:

  • Breakfast – banana
  • Lunch – 1/2 fries, 1/2 omelette, champagne
  • Supper – leftover cheese tortellini, 3/4 root beer float, 2 glasses wine
  • Snacks – a few pretzels + few bites of chocolate, champagne

Monday morning brought the reality of exactly what this week is…vacation week!! AHH!!! I had a small class on Monday which made the day extra nice. Gazelle in the morning and the workday was done before I knew it. Zach and I ran to the gym (1.3 miles), did a couple of rounds on the monkey bars and then ran right back home (1.3 miles). The whole thing took 35 minutes (241 calories). We were in a hurry so that he could get home in time to watch the US play in the World Cup and I was in a hurry to shower before Bible study. Yay! We finally had Bible study again! We finished studying the parables last night and when we resume the study in a few weeks we are going to pick a new book or topic. After Bible study I had leftovers and waited for Christine to get back from hanging out with one of her friends. She and I got to spend a little more time together but we both headed to bed early, we were tired! Zach was on a cloud over USA’s win. 🙂 Our first against Ghana in the world cup ever!! I am excited to watch with him when US plays Portugal while we are on vacation!

Now it’s Tuesday morning and I only have 3 1/2 work days standing between me and vacation!!! I’ve got a lot to do over the next few days and I’m hoping that the time will fly. 🙂 CAN. NOT. WAIT.

Monday’s Food Journal:

  • Breakfast – apple w/PB
  • Lunch – salad, few fries (leftover from Barn)
  • Supper – leftover whole wheat linguine, PB + honey on a small corn tortilla

550.5/1,400 miles. 112/150 running miles.
