Today I am 25 years old!! A quarter of a century! Dad let me know that when a car hits 25 it is officially an antique…yikes. Thankfully I feel nothing but young still. This week has already had some nice birthday festivities with so much more to come!
Monday I did 30 minutes on the gazelle and then did 30 minutes on the treadmill after work (2.04 miles, 171 calories). I ran home to eat some leftover Pasta Andrew and went to Bible study. Unfortunately I was alone because Zach had a game, but we met up after and went to my parents to open presents early!! I had already gotten to go birthday shopping with my mom but I wasn’t allowed to have my stuff yet. Monday I received a huge birthday bag that was stuffed with goodies (mostly fabulous clothes) that I had picked out.
After presents I was surprised with only the very best…
A little miniature cake from Concannons!! Mmmmm best cake ever. We all had some and I celebrated with a very small piece to enjoy the cake but also not blow my hard work (a whole week of birthday stuff ahead you know, moderation is required!). It was so heavenly
Zach also surprised me as we were cutting the cake with a bottle of dessert port!
We ended up drinking some in the hot tub and I again displayed moderation by having a tasty 2 ounces. It was a great, lite start to my birthday week! Oh! I also got an adorable workout shirt in the mail from my best friend Christine who lives in South Carolina!
Tuesday I did 30 minutes on the gazelle and then after work did a 52 minutes, 3.06 mile, 294 calorie walk/jog on the Greenway with Mom. It was a gorgeous evening out. I went to her house for dinner after and we worked a puzzle. I love working puzzles and this always goes in spurts for me…perhaps it’s time to break out a really tough jigsaw here at home… Mom had been in charge of keeping the little bit of leftovers at her house from my cake so that I didn’t scarf them down so I cut a very, very thin slice and took it home after the puzzle. I enjoyed it while watching Mad Men knowing that Zach was going to be home late on this night!
Now it’s Wednesday, my actual birthday!! I had one of my little boys bring me flowers this morning, which was adorable. Zach got me a veggie omelette for breakfast and we’ve got dinner plans this evening! Nothing big though because Friday is my big birthday dinner with him and my parents and then in a few weekends is the real birthday time with Zach. Oct. 25-27th (I think those are the dates) he is taking me away somewhere! We always have to post-pone birthday stuff because of soccer season which isn’t officially over for a couple more weeks, but that’s always fun to stretch my birthday out the whole month. This evening after work I am hitting a birthday spin class I’m a solid 12 pounds less than last year on my birthday and it’s all due to good habits LIKE said spin class!
Hope your day is awesome even if it’s not your birthday
